NBA Trade Rumors: Golden State Top 3 Trade Targets!

The Golden State Warriors have identified their top three trade targets to address their roster needs. Let's take a closer look at these players and their potential impact on the team.

Kelly Olynyk (Utah Jazz): The Warriors have been in search of frontcourt depth, especially after trading James Wiseman. Kelly Olynyk could be an ideal fit for Golden State. While his defense may have some limitations, his offensive skills would thrive in the Warriors' system. Olynyk possesses the attributes the team needs, including quick thinking, shooting ability, and willingness to pass. He would excel in setting screens for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, and his floor-spacing capabilities make him versatile at both the power forward and center positions. Olynyk's contract situation with a partially guaranteed salary gives the Jazz a decision to make regarding his future.

Dorian Finney-Smith (Brooklyn Nets): The Warriors could target the Nets, who possess reliable two-way wings that align with Golden State's needs. Dorian Finney-Smith, though not the top option, could be a realistic trade option. As a three-and-D wing, he provides defensive versatility, guarding various positions effectively. While his shooting struggled this season, his prior seasons showcased his prowess as a marksman. If the Warriors can secure a deal for Finney-Smith without including Jonathan Kuminga, it would be a no-brainer. However, if Kuminga becomes part of the trade package, the decision becomes more complex. Finney-Smith's contract for the upcoming season is valued at $13.4 million.

Jakob Poeltl (Toronto Raptors): The Warriors would benefit from adding a center like Jakob Poeltl to fill the void left by James Wiseman's lack of development. Despite the effectiveness of Draymond Green and Kevon Looney at the center position, Poeltl's presence would provide valuable assistance. The question lies in determining whether Poeltl's cost aligns with what the Warriors can afford, given their already dominant performance with Green and Looney on the court.

These trade targets represent the Warriors' attempt to address their roster needs and strengthen their chances of success. While each potential trade comes with its own considerations, acquiring players like Olynyk, Finney-Smith, or Poeltl could significantly enhance Golden State's competitiveness in the league.
